Michigan State University's Forest Akers Golf Courses offers two 18-hole championship layouts. Forest Akers West Golf Course is one of the premier golf courses in the region and ranks as one of the best collegiate facilities in the country. Forest Akers West has hosted the 1998 and 2008 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship, the 2002 NCAA Women's Central Regional, the 1994 NCAA Women's East Regional, and the 1997 and 2007 Women's Big Ten Championships. It will also be the host of the 2019 NCAA Women’s Regional.
The newly opened Lasch Family Golf Center is a 15,000 square-foot home to the MSU men’s and women’s golf teams. The $6 million Lasch Family Golf Center includes an indoor practice area, student-athlete lounge, men's and women's locker rooms, coaches' offices, video room, weight room and a kitchen area featuring nutrition/hydration stations.
The Fox Family Putting Green is a 20,000 square-foot outdoor putting green. The putting green alone is 90 yards long and is surrounded by fairway and rough length grass with undulating terrain. This green is utilized daily by the men’s and women’s golf teams for to hit any putt, chip, or pitch they can imagine.
The Spartan Golf Teams utilize the heated hitting stalls during the winter months, allowing for productive practice all year long. The heated stalls allow the players to hit out on to the open driving range to see full ball flights. They are temperature controlled and are equipped with full length wall mirrors.
